In the spring of 2009, VJPD opened its doors to Vancouver's Marque One Films, who documented all levels of in-class training, as well as testimonials from parents and full-time students, to produce a mini-documentary about the school and its esteemed junior training standards.
Ages shown in video (by uniform colour):
White - 6-7 yrs
Pink - 8-9 yrs
Green - 10-11 yrs
Blue - 12 yrs
VJPD Ballet is British Columbia, Canada's premier junior ballet training institute for girls aged 6-13. It accepts new students, on an audition-only basis, who seek to pursue pre-professional training in a high-attention, small-class, specialized junior environment, in order to prepare for accomplished entry into an future senior school. VJPD's teacher to student ratio is 1:6, the smallest of any professional ballet full-time ballet program in BC.
VJPD students are regularly accepted into and have received scholarships to renowned international institutions such as Canada's National Ballet School, American Ballet Theater School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.
